The Stable Block contains a number of stable buidings and lies close to Stourhead House and adjacent to the Walled Kitchen Gardens.   All of these can be approached through the Clock Arch shown in the two pictures below.

The stable area contains several English Heritage listed stables and other buildings.
The stable pictured above has the following (edited) listed details :

"Stable on west corner of north side of stable yard.
"Mid 18th century rebuild of earlier structure.
"Single storey with two windows.
"Random rubble stone (walls) and two span lean-to roofs with central valley.
"Lead rainwater spout from valley empties into freestanding lead tank dated 1772.
"Central tall planked door with imposts to trefoil-shaped transom light, leaded oval oculi either side,
       inserted into blocked larger openings.
"Bust of woman in circular recess over door.
"The rear elevation is blind and with tall semi-circular-headed blocked opening.
"The interior retains cast iron and wooden stalls and loose boxes."

The building below, formerly a food store, is now the Stourhead book shop.
